Biography

Pathology Associates of Princeton, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is pleased to include Cheryl Rimmer, M.D., as a part of our dynamic medical staff. She has considerable medical professional, research, and teaching experience.

Dr. Rimmer earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York, before attending medical school. She graduated from the American University of the Caribbean in Sint Maarten with a medical degree and a Master of Science degree in biomedical science. Following the attainment of her degrees, she completed an anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during which she served as chief resident. After her residency, she completed a fellowship in surgical pathology also at the University of Pennsylvania Health System.

Dr. Rimmer brings professional experience including research and teaching positions. After her fellowship, she was the staff pathologist at AltantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She then moved to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton, a part of the Rutgers Health System, along with Southern Ocean Medical Center located in Hamilton and Manahawkin, NJ. She served as a clinical assistant professor and staff pathologist at these institutions. She was also associate director of laboratory at Southern Ocean Medical Center and associate director of microbiology at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton. Prior to joining Pathology Associates of Princeton, Dr. Rimmer was the staff pathologist at Tri-State Pathology Consultants, a part of the Lourdes Health System in Burlington and Camden, NJ.

Dr. Rimmer has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and presented abstracts at various professional conferences. She has full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology.
