Biography

Pathology Associates of Princeton, a Sonic Healthcare Anatomic Pathology Practice, is pleased to include Lanjing “L.J.” Zhang, M.D., as a member of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Zhang has an extensive academic, and medical professional background.

Dr. Zhang received both his master’s degree and medical degree from the Tongji Medical University in Wuhan, China. Subsequently, he relocated to the United States for his postgraduate training. He began his postdoctoral training in cell biology at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. He went on to complete a pathology residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, followed by a gastrointestinal and liver pathology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Upon completion of his postgraduate training, Dr. Zhang began holding key teaching positions at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where he was clinical assistant professor at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He also held position as an adjunct professor at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, a visiting professor at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and an associate member of the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. He has also held a variety of key positions at the Princeton Medical Center. He has held position as the alternate chair of the institutional review board, as well as a member of the medical advisory board and a member of the executive committee for Princeton Health International.

Over the years, Dr. Zhang has developed extensive professional experience. He holds medical research publications and articles in peer-reviewed medical journals as well as numerous abstracts, and oral and poster presentations at universities and professional society meetings. He is an active member of the College of American Pathologists, American College of Gastroenterology, and the Royal College of Pathologists.

Dr. Zhang holds full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology.
