Pathology Associates of Princeton, a Sonic Healthcare anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include Thamarai Saminathan, M.D., as a member of our medical staff. Dr. Saminathan has extensive hospital experience with an impressive academic and teaching background.
Dr. Saminathan graduated from the University of Madras in Chennai, India, where she received both her M.B.B.S. and her M.D. degrees before relocating to the United States for her postgraduate training. She went on to finish a five-year anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, during which she served as chief resident. She later completed a hematology fellowship at the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
During her academic training, Dr. Saminathan completed five separate specialty rotations, including a dermatopathology rotation at the Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, under the renowned Dr. A. Bernard Ackerman. Dr. Saminathan has served in a variety of teaching roles both during her medical studies and into her professional career. She was an instructor for the Medical Technologist Training Program at Lankenau Hospital, where she also led tumor board conferences and hematology/oncology conferences, among other in-service continuing medical education programs. She was a physician assistant and clinical instructor of pathology at the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. She has worked with Pathology Associates of Princeton since 1995.
Dr. Saminathan has been published in several prestigious peer-reviewed medical journals as well as given numerous presentations and lectures at professional medical conferences and universities.
Dr. Saminathan is a member of five professional medical organizations, including the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
She holds full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and hematology by the American Board of Pathology.
